All issues and challenges of particular relevance to the Asian region will be discussed by international experts on technology, finance, economics and environmental/social issues. Organizations such as ICOLD, ICID, IEA, UNESCAP, the Mekong River Commission and the Asian Development Bank traditionally bring their expertise to the discussions.

A major technical exhibition will run alongside the conference, giving all the leading companies in the field of hydropower and multipurpose dam engineering the chance to display their products and services.

A choice of two post-Conference technical study tours will include possibilities to visit the Batang Ai CFRD and 100 MW hydro plant, the 2400 MW Bakun scheme, which will be at the final stage of commissioning, and the site of the Murum RCC dam, currently under construction.

Finally, a full social programme is planned for all, offering all participants the opportunity for networking in a relaxed atmosphere, while experiencing the rich cultural traditions and fascinating flora and fauna of the island of Borneo.
