EU4Environment Water Resources and Environmental Data, a new programme for the preservation of natural resources in the countries of Central Europe and the Caucasus

Launched in february 2022, the new program EU4Environment Water Resources and Environmental Data aims to improve health, the well-being of citizens and to pursue the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.

EU4Environment Water Resources and Environmental is part of the cooperation between the European Union and the Oriental Partnership countries, the oriental dimension specific to European Union politics to neighborhood, aims to strengthen the political association and economic integration of these six countries of Eastern Europe and Southern Caucasus.

The new program start under 2022 and 2024 by a consortium of EU Member States through institutions : Austrian Environment Agency (UBA), Austrian Development Agency (ADA), International Office for Water (OiEau), Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).

On behalf of the ADA, OiEau will be responsible for supporting political strategy for the prevention of climate change & the implementation of management plans in the countries concerned.
OiEau will also have to develop dialogue between the private stakeholders, the general public and the local authorities competent in water management, but also the sharing of environmental data.
Finally, as Coordinator of the project communication actions, OiEau will have to ensure its visibility.

The European Commission and its partners are pleased to continue, after EUWI+ (European Water Initiative Plus), their engagement with the Eastern Partnership countries. Together, they will strengthen water resources and environmental data management for the benefit of the environment and the well-being of the citizens of the region.
