An "MoU" between the ICRC and IOWater

24/01/2019

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and IOWater have just signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This framework document reflects the mutual willingness of both parties to continue the collaboration initiated since 2001 for training and technical assistance actions relating to water and sanitation sector infrastructure.

In addition to its symbolic value (the ICRC is one of the most respected international organizations for its commitment), this document is a very strong recognition of the quality of the work carried out by IOWater: 17 years of uninterrupted collaboration have led the Office to a detailed knowledge of the ICRC's functioning and internal rules, but also of the specific nature of its missions.

This proximity, coupled with the excellent feedback from the beneficiaries of IOWater's missions as part of the ICRC's actions, made this signature possible.

This good news is the result of a joint work carried out mainly by the teams of the NWTC (National Water Training Center):

  •  trainers who, sometimes under difficult conditions, go to the field in remote, even complicated areas to bring IOWater's know-how where it is needed by the ICRC;
  • but also the administrative staff who, from proposals to the reception of trainees, ensure the efficient running of missions.

Together, they fully contribute to the ICRC's vision of IOWater... a professional partner that fully meets its needs!
