New innovative installations of IOWater in Limoges: a successful inauguration!

On Wednesday 29 May, the International Office for Water (IOWater) inaugurated the new facilities at its Limoges site, in the presence of officials, numerous guests and the press.

Mr Eric TARDIEU, Director General of IOWater, presented the activities of the association, insisting on IOWater's desire to offer high quality and increasingly innovative facilities to the 6,000 learners trained on site or at a distance, every year. Representatives of the Town Hall and the Urban Community of Limoges, the Haute-Vienne Departmental Council, the New Aquitaine Regional Council and the Loire-Bretagne and Adour-Garonne Water Agencies then took turns in the microphone. All recalled the importance of the partnerships that bind them for the sustainable management and quality of the territory's water resources. A "will to build the future around IOWater's expertise and innovation" was mentioned, in particular, when others presented IOWater as "an ambassador of the city of Limoges, internationally" by referring to the projects carried out by IOWater, in many regions of the world.

After this official sequence, throughout the afternoon, workshops led by IOWater employees allowed the guests to discover the training courses, the material available to learners and IOWater's expertise in leak detection, connected cities, digitization, big data, data management, information research and dissemination, etc.

During these workshops* and open tours, visitors were able to discover the innovation made possible by the new installations: high-tech equipment, technical hall, training rooms, multimedia studio or educational platforms.

This event, which gathered many people, is a proof of the interest aroused by IOWater in France, Europe and the world. More than ever, our association will therefore continue to support a wide range of actors in its 4 main areas of expertise: technical and continuous training, the development of water information systems, technical and institutional support, and the animation and development of networks of actors.
