Solutions for Emerging Pollutants of Concern to the Water and the Environment
SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES :
Health risks associated with contaminated water and wastewater, continuous degradation of aquatic environment and water scarcity issues contribute to the increase of advanced technologies implementation upon legislative impetus. In a near future, the elimination of emerging pollutants of concern (i.e., pharmaceuticals, endocrine-disrupting compounds, surfactants, plasticizers, disinfection by-products and other chemicals) will drive the selection of water and wastewater treatment processes.
EA3G2018 event thus aims to present an overview of the current state of knowledge and latest advances regarding the use of Ozone and Advanced Oxidation to provide solutions for the control of emerging parameters including persistent organic pollutants, hazardous substances and microbiological contaminants in any water.
