Pascal BERTEAUD, new President of the International Office for Water

Pascal BERTEAUD, 53 years old, former student at Ecole Polytechnique, and General Engineer from Ponts, des Eaux et des Forêts school, was elected President of the International Office for Water (IOWater), during the last General Assembly on 12 June 2018.

He succeeds Pierre ROUSSEL, former President of the Permanent Commission on Natural Resources of the General Council for the Environment and Sustainable Development (CGEDD) and former Director of Water at the Ministry in charge of the Environment, who had not sought the renewal of his mandate, after having held the Presidency of IOWater since 2009.

Mr Berteaud said in particular that "I am particularly touched by this election and thank all the members of IOWater for having chosen me as President of the Governing Board. IOWater is a formidable machine which, under the leadership of its successive Presidents and General Managers, has become indispensable to most water stakeholders. My thanks go to Pierre Roussel and Jean-Francois Donzier for their work over the years. To succeed them is quite a challenge, be sure that with our new General Manager, Eric Tardieu, we will tackle it with the greatest determination".
