A framework agreement for scientific and technical cooperation signed between IRSTEA and IOWater

In 2017, IRSTEA and IOWater affirmed their partnership.

As part of this common desire, a delegation from IRSTEA visited the IOWater infrastructures in Limoges and La Souterraine on August 23rd, 2017. This IRSTEA delegation was composed, among others, of Mr Patrick FLAMMARION, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Research and Innovation at IRSTEA.

At the end of this visit, it was decided jointly to draw up a framework agreement for scientific and technical cooperation between IRSTEA and IOWater.

The purpose of this agreement is to define a framework for cooperation, consultation and exchange of information, promotion and follow-up of research, training, expertise and scientific and technical information activities carried out in the field of water, aquatic environments, biodiversity and waste and covers the following activities:

  • training of professionals;
  • expert and advisory missions;
  • conducting test programs in research and development of technologies, processes and methods of water and waste management by enhancing the existing educational and technological platforms of IOWater and IRSTEA, by creating new test platforms and deploying test protocols;
  • the contribution of IOWater and IRSTEA to national and international recommendations and the promotion of information systems and networks;
  • joint contribution to data management systems;
  • setting up and participating in calls for projects of the European Union and international cooperation and networking of players in the water sector on a global scale;
  • in a general way, the valorization of the missions and works of IRSTEA and IOWater;
  • the identification of research actors, expertise and initial and professional training in the fields of water, aquatic environments, biodiversity and waste;
  • the design and provision of tools to give visibility to the water and biodiversity sectors, in terms of research and expertise actors and professional and initial training.
